CampBot

Step-by-step instructions

Do the one-time browser setup first, then CampBot itself is a simple three-step process.

CampBot Step 1

Log in and confirm the Browser Helper

First, confirm the GoingToCamp account

  1. Open CampBot.
  2. Enter the GoingToCamp email and password for the person who will make the reservation.
  3. Click Confirm Login.
  4. Wait for the GoingToCamp login line to show a green check and Confirmed.
  5. CampBot will also synchronize its release clock with GoingToCamp. Wait for the GoingToCamp clock line to show a green check.
  6. CampBot does not save the GoingToCamp password. If CampBot is reloaded or reopened, enter the login again and click Confirm Login.

If Browser Helper v0.3 is already installed

  1. Download the new Browser Helper ZIP below and extract it.
  2. Replace the old campbot-browser-helper folder with the new one.
  3. Open chrome://extensions (or edge://extensions).
  4. Find CampBot Browser Helper and click Reload.
  5. Reload CampBot. Step 1 should show Connected · v0.7.0.

Then install the Browser Helper once

  1. Download CampBot Browser Helper v0.7.
  2. Open the downloaded ZIP and extract the campbot-browser-helper folder somewhere you will keep it. Do not delete or move that folder after loading it into Chrome.
  3. In Chrome, type chrome://extensions in the address bar. In Edge, use edge://extensions.
  4. Turn on Developer mode.
  5. Click Load unpacked.
  6. Select the extracted campbot-browser-helper folder.
  7. Return to CampBot and reload the page.
  8. In Step 1, confirm the Browser Helper line shows a green check and Connected.
Step 1 is finished when the GoingToCamp login, Browser Helper, and GoingToCamp clock all have green checks. The GoingToCamp login is for the current CampBot session only.
2
CampBot Step 2

Set the stay and rank the sites

  1. Enter the arrival date, departure date, and number of people.
  2. Enter the campsite numbers in the order you want CampBot to try them.
  3. First choice is required. Second and third choices are optional.
  4. If you use a third choice, you must also have a second choice.
  5. CampBot stops immediately after the first successful hold.

If you want to look around, expand Browse all available sites. That panel is optional and does not change the ranked release attempt unless you click Use in ranking.

Step 2 shows Ready when the stay details and at least one ranked site are valid.
3
CampBot Step 3

Set the release time and arm CampBot

  1. For the normal Wisconsin release, click Set next 9:00 AM.
  2. Check the release date and time. CampBot interprets this as Central / Wisconsin time.
  3. Click Arm Scheduled Run.
  4. While arming, CampBot authenticates and resolves only your ranked sites ahead of time so less work is left for the release moment.
  5. Wait for the page to say CampBot is armed and show a countdown.
  6. Leave the CampBot tab open. Do not close Chrome/Edge or let the computer go to sleep.

At the scheduled time, CampBot fires automatically. It tries Site 1, then Site 2, then Site 3 if present, and stops after the first successful hold. If GoingToCamp's release state has not propagated immediately, CampBot quietly rechecks the same ranked sites for a few seconds. It never expands beyond the sites you chose.

You do not need to click anything at 9:00 AM once CampBot is armed.

After a successful hold

Finish the reservation on GoingToCamp

  1. CampBot will show the site it successfully held.
  2. Click Continue on GoingToCamp.
  3. The Browser Helper transfers the held CampBot cart into GoingToCamp and opens Review Policies.
  4. Continue through the normal GoingToCamp checkout screens manually.
  5. Enter payment information only on GoingToCamp.

CampBot and the Browser Helper do not read or submit card details.

Testing before tomorrow: set the release date to today and the release time one or two minutes in the future, arm CampBot, and confirm that the ranked attempt starts on its own.
